It's a (Late) Festivus Miracle

The kids got to experience their first snow in Mississippi! The last time it snowed here was in 2000, before Porter made his appearance in our lives. Sadly, for some reason although the entire city of Hattiesburg was covered in snow, our yard looked like the picture you see above. But luckily, our good friends the Atkinsons let us know that their house, which might be about 6 miles away from ours, was a wintry wonderland. Thanks to the Atkinsons for clueing us in or else our kids might have missed out on all the snow fun!

Time Travel

Most of these pictures are from the past month or so, but I thought it was worth it to go back in time!! Check out the vicious light-saber war that took place on our Poppy and KK Christmas morning! And on actual Christmas morning, the kids posed with Dad with one of his presents. It's a shadow box with their name t-shirts. Check out how small Lizzie's one-sie was just a few months ago! She couldn't fit her big toe in it now. And, Porter has figured out how to give Riley a piggy back ride!

Busy Lizzie

Lizzie's schedule really is hectic, what with taking her first plane ride and helping mom with baby Lucie. Good thing she found time to pose for some really cute pictures while in Connecticut.

Lucie

We are so thrilled to introduce our newest cousin, Lucie Susanna Pensak! She was born Wednesday, December 19th and weighed a teeny-tiny 5 lbs. 14 oz. Her happy parents can't wait to get her home so Santa can visit! We love you Lucie!

Dresses, Daring-Deeds, and Decongestant

Lots has been happening around here. Porter is sick, and has spent lots of time on the couch with a wet rag on his forehead. Brice taught him this trick in the middle of the night, and now he feels that it always has to be there. Poor guy. The baby started pulling up on anything and everything. Such a brave girl, but I don't like to be reminded that she's growing up. And on a cuter note, the girls wore matching Santa dresses to church last Sunday that were made and smocked by my grandmother almost 30 years ago! The one Riley has on was the one my cousin Lisa wore, and the one Lizzie has on was mine. Props to my mom for keeping those dresses in such good shape.
